My Top 3 Packing Tips

Moving is such a hassle. Here are my top three packing tips:

1. Label the outside the box with the room it goes too. Don't go crazy and try to list everything inside the box. You will spend more time writing on boxes, and loose valuable packing time! Just keep is simple with "kitchen" "master bath" "Living room". That way, as you bring boxes into your new house, you can take them straight to the rooms they belong to. This will not only help your new house feel more organized from the get-go, but will also help when you are in the kitchen and just need to find a pot holder! All you have to do is glance inside a few boxes, rather than open 10 to find out, they don't have kitchen items at all.

2. Use disposable styrofoam plates in between your breakable plates when packing. They fit perfectly, and offer a great amount of shock absorption and cushion. Plus, any extras you have, you can use to eat on while all your good stuff is packed away.

3. Lastly, pack EVERY breakable thing in its own plastic shopping bag. (We all have tons of them stuffed in a corner in out laundry room, this is the perfect opportunity to put them to good use!) This is probably my favorite packing hack for two reasons. First off, it adds extra padding. And second, in the event that something does break, it's contained to its own bag and you don't have to fish out the rest of the items in the box amongst broken glass.
